Hedge and Shade Ministries

Our family has 130 acres of beautiful wilderness on a river in northern Idaho. For many years, we provided refuge to women and children escaping painful situations. Unlike state-run facilities, we provided long term care that gave these women time to heal and put their lives back together - 4 months or 6 months or a year. We did it unofficially and spontaneously as God brought us people who needed a safe place to stay. We've decided to make our ministry official, to grow so that we can offer more consistent help to a larger number of those in need.

Current Projects

We need to build a new house. We have only the original farmhouse to provide housing to those in need. We have patched it up and it's cozy enough, but we can serve a very limited number of hurting people. We are seeking donations toward building a new lodge with more bedrooms and a larger kitchen and living area.
